I am a friend, an artist and simply myself.

I think i met most or all of the standards on the on the original sheet and i tried to use the principles of design.
People who dont know me would see many words that seem to not relate and hands holding some sort of heart like item in the center and raised above the rest of the art.
i think that some of the strengths of my piece is the drawing of the hands and how i emphasized them by raising them above the rest of the piece. I also left some of the grey clay in the plaster cast of the heart and that seemed to give it a big of a more aged looked, which i though looked good. all the words that surrounds the hands show a little part of me and part of my story and it sort of has a bit of leading lines effect because they all surround the hand in a circle and kind of force your eyes to look there.

  1. I loved your artwork and the way you carved the clay heart. Also, the words all around the paper had a very nice touch and I really liked how the words described you and some of the words didn't make sense to me which just got me to think about your artwork more and more.

  2. I really enjoyed how you made a collage out of the words surrounding the heart. Each word represented who you are and where you come from. Some words were very obvious and others I had no clue what they meant, which made me think harder about your artwork!

  3. Your project turned out really well. I know in the beginning the Mexican heart mirror thing was giving you a lot of trouble but it turned out really really well and I'm glad you stuck with it. Also the whole thought bubble background was a cool idea. The words filling it up defiently described you, for example, "shut up." or "confusion?" upside down. All the colors of the words made it really fun to look at, I barely saw any repeats in the shades of them either. Good work(:

  4. Molly--
I looooved your centerpiece! It was intricate and beautifully designed. I thought that there was a great effect of it being lifted above the other piece of paper to show that it was the center of everything. Being elevated it really drew your attention to it. I also liked how the words you chose were not just in a line or straight but they were colorful and upside down and all over the place.

  6. Molly-
I loved how creative yours was. The plaster heart was an amazing idea, and putting all of the important stuff in your life in a type of bubble made it like your thinking about everything. Overall, I really really liked the outcome.

  7. Molly I really enjoyed your project. Even though you acted like it wasn't amazing it really really was!!!!!!!!! Agreeing with Ms. Roberts some of the words were easy and simple and others were complicated and you have to ask you about them. Also the plaster was AMAZING!!!!!!! It was so different then anything else!!!! GREAT JOB :)

  8. Molly your project was sooo good!! I loved the way you had the 3d aspect it litterally and figuratively gave your piece depth. The bubble with all your values circling in it really reflected on your colorful personality. The way your eye goes straight to the heart at first then is drawn out to the colorful words was a great effect!

  11. I really enjoyed looking at your artwork. You incorporated two different types of art into your portrait which made it really unique. I loved the way you carved the clay heart and then surrounded it with the hand as if you were giving it to us.I also liked the variety of words all around the paper which gave your a very nice touch. I also liked how you used placement and proportion and different levels to emphasize the heart. The grouping of the words were really cool because some of the words wee about your story and your life but some of the words didn't make sense to me but it made me really think about your artwork. Great Job!!!

  12. I love love the plaster heart on your portrait. It's very creative, I would have never thought to use that material. The heart being held by the hands that are pushed out really make it look like the hands are giving you the heart. Its very cool.
